Adoption Process

Getting a new canine family member is very exciting. We keep you involved during the groodle growing time to nourish the bonding process between you and puppy …

Getting a Groodles Inc puppy starts with you contacting us for a questionnaire. This questionnaire asks lots of questions about how life would be for the puppy living with you, your dog experience, and details about your family. The questionnaire helps us get a good picture of you and your family, and what personality of puppy would best suit you. Once the questionnaire is received back and we’ve approved you as a prospective puppy owner, you go on the list for the next litter of puppies. We are a boutique kennel, so puppies are usually born only once a year. Info about the next litter is regularly updated on the nursery page – who the mum and dad will be, what the pups will probably be like, etc. Keep an eye on the facebook page as well, where we will post updates as time gets closer and things start happening. Those families already on the waiting list will get regular email updates.

The birth!!!

We let you know when labour has started and when the birth is complete, and then as soon as possible whether or not you will be offered a puppy from this litter based on the litter size. We’ll send you pictures of the proud mum and babes as soon as we can … a proud mum snuggling up with what look like little rats haha …

Once they get to two weeks old …

… and we’re fairly sure they are healthy and all is going well, it’ll be time to approve the contract and pay a deposit to hold your puppy. You won’t yet know which pup is yours, but you’ll know that definitely one of them is!!
You will have been getting updates and photos, and this will continue as they grow and develop.

At about five weeks …

… we are talking about which puppy best suits you and your situation. Deciding on the puppy is a joint effort between you and us … you know what you want, we know the personalities of the puppies. We may recommend a specific pup or give you a choice of two that suit your family situation. We’ll talk until we get it right.

Eigth weeks and …

your puppy is ready to go home with you .. and to be honest we’re ready for them to go too!! This time is SO amazing, seeing each family come to pick up their new canine baby or seeing photos of his arrival at the airline terminal. Your puppy is ready for new horizons as well – it’s an exciting time for everyone.
